Edgar Planning
Our story.
Established in 2018 by Wānaka local Scott Edgar, Edgar Planning was formed on the key values of honesty and integrity.
We are small scale and local. As planning consultants, we pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our thorough approach to every project that comes into our office.
We recognise the importance of every client and strive to give each project equal attention, regardless of its size or complexity.
Erin Stagg joined the team in early 2022 and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in local government and district planning.
We provide in-depth planning advice and services, including:
- Initial project scoping
- Due diligence planning advice
- Subdivision planning
- Preparation of resource consent applications
- Fast Track consenting applications
- Submissions on district and regional plan reviews
- Notified resource consent applications
We work together with the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago District councils to achieve the desired outcomes for every project. We also liaise with external consultants to obtain any additional information and approvals required.
Scott Edgar.
Director
Scott brings more than 20 years of planning experience in both local government and the private sector. He has a vast knowledge of land use, the subdivision resource consent process and District Plan reviews.
Since founding Edgar Planning in 2018, Scott has prepared planning advice, resource consents and submissions for clients with residential, commercial and rural projects, including Wānaka’s Silverlight Studios and the Cardrona Distillery.
Scott is also skilled in preparing and presenting expert evidence for high-level hearings, from Council to the Environmental Court and High Court, as well as being proficient in the procedures and requirements of the NZ Government’s Fast Track consenting process.
Outside of planning, Scott enjoys making the most of the Wānaka lifestyle with his young family, mountain biking, snowboarding, and playing basketball.
Erin Stagg.
Senior Planner
With a Master of Planning from Otago University and experience in working on a range of projects and developments, Erin has a proven track record in successful planning.
She joined the Edgar Planning team in 2022 after working in local government processing, making decisions on consent applications and contributing to District Plan reviews for the Queenstown Lakes District Council and the Dunedin City Council.
Erin has been an advisor to many large-scale projects, from subdivisions and comprehensive resort developments to high-density residential and commercial developments. She has a strong interest in rural subdivision development, as well as urban intensification and placemaking.
Outside of work, Erin likes to ski, run and ride the local trails, and generally enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Wānaka has to offer.
